CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Sophomore RF Jean-Francois Garon hooked a go-ahead home run around the right field fair pole in the top of the ninth and sophomore LHP Cole Cook retired all five batters he faced to earn the win in his Bradley debut, leading the Braves (2-1) to a 7-6 victory Sunday afternoon at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (1-2) and a season-opening series win against the host Islanders at Chapman Field.
In a back-and-forth tussle, Bradley overcame an early, 2-0 deficit with single runs in the second and third innings, two in the fourth on Derek Bangert's first career home run and one in the fifth for a 5-2 lead.
