NORMAL, Ill. – Senior Hannah Thompson moved into sixth in career kills at Bradley, finishing with a team-best nine kills and 12 digs to go with a pair of blocks, but I-74 rival Illinois State claimed a 27-25, 25-22, 25-10 victory over the Braves in a battle for second place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings Friday at Redbird Arena.
The loss, which closed out the regular season for Bradley, dropped the Braved (16-13 overall, 12-6 MVC) into third in the Valley standings with most Valley teams still having one game to play. Fourth-place Valparaiso moved within a half game of the Bradley with a victory at Northern Iowa Friday.
