Peoria, Ill. – The Bradley men's basketball lost its Missouri Valley Conference opener on Wednesday night to Northern Iowa, 65-47. The loss drops the Braves to 8-6 on the year, while the Panthers improve to 6-8.
Sophomore Elijah Childs led the Braves with 12 points, while junior Nate Kennell chipped in 11 points. Senior Luuk van Bree provided a spark off the bench with six points and a game-high eight rebounds in 16 minutes of action.
The schools played a tight opening 15 minutes before a late Northern Iowa run in the first half gave the Panthers a double-digit cushion.
