CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The Bradley Braves encountered a challenging opponent in the Illinois Fighting Illini on Dec. 12, 2024, at the State Farm Center. Despite an encouraging start and several strong individual performances, the Braves were unable to maintain momentum, falling 70-52 in a competitive nonconference matchup.
Positive Start for the Braves
Bradley opened the game with energy and efficiency, scoring 17 points in the first quarter to keep pace with Illinois. Guard Soleil Barnes set the tone early, contributing key baskets and showing versatility with her passing and rebounding. Kaylen Nelson and Amy O'Hara also made important plays, helping Bradley stay within three points after the first 10 minutes of action.
