Now that was a response.
After suffering a blowout defeat to Northwestern on Monday in the Ft. Myers Tip-off, Bradley stormed back Wednesday with a convincing 73-60 victory over Kansas State, the reigning Big 12 champions, in the consolation game of the tournament.
It marked just the third victory against a Power Five Conference team for the Braves in the past decade. All three have come on neutral courts during in-season tournaments. Illinois in Las Vegas in 2009 and Penn State at Cancun last season were the other two.
This was, without doubt, the most monumental non-conference victory of Brian Wardle’s five-year tenure as Bradley’s head coach.
