PEORIA — It’s been 13 years since Bradley’s NCAA Sweet 16 run. That team has scattered around the globe.
But their minds and hearts have been drawn back to the Hilltop as the current Braves, for the first time since, prepare to go dancing once again.
“What they’ve done is pretty exceptional,” said Marcellus Sommerville, who is still playing professionally in France. “All year they’ve been so resilient. The whole (Missouri Valley Conference) tournament is just a testament to what they’ve been through, not just this season, but the last three-to-four years.”
Sommerville, 37, is in the middle of his season with SLU Nancy Basket and can’t get back to watch the Braves in person.
