Normal, Ill. – Freshman Jacob Kisting pitched seven scoreless innings and the Bradley baseball team received timely hitting in the late innings to earn a 3-1 victory over I-74 rival Illinois State on Friday night. With the win, the Braves improve to 12-19 overall and 4-3 in Missouri Valley Conference action, while the Redbirds drop to 14-18 and 2-5 in league play.
Kisting earned his team-leading sixth win on the mound behind seven scoreless innings – allowing just two hits, while striking out six. It marked the first time in the rookie's career that he did not allow a run as Illinois State was only able to advance two runners into scoring position, stranding both on second base in the second and fourth innings.
