Three takeaways from Bradley’s 91-52 rout this week of Millikin:
INCREASED UPTEMPO
For months, Brian Wardle has promoted how his team will play faster this season. What we saw Tuesday – albeit the demolition of a Division III opponent – was better than advertised for a preseason game.
Not only did the Braves show off a strong transition game, scoring 23 fast-break points and a total of 43 points in fewer than 10 seconds, but they did it by committing just nine turnovers.
“The pace and the tempo I liked,” said Wardle.
This team is quicker and faster than any in recent Bradley memory and is well-suited to an uptempo style.
