PEORIA — Elijah Childs, Bradley’s leading scorer and rebounder, will be sidelined from 3-6 weeks with a right hand injury suffered during a fall during the second half of the Braves’ 81-51 Sunday victory over Georgia Southern.
Childs, a 6-foot-7 junior, is averaging 14.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and has blocked 13 shots in the first 11 games for Bradley (8-3). His rebounding average also leads the Missouri Valley Conference. Childs is shooting 51 percent from the field.
“Obviously, it’s a huge blow,” said BU coach Brian Wardle. “He’s one of the best players in the league, and we run a lot through him.
