Bradley rallies from first-half funk with good defense, better decisions

PEORIA — When the shots aren’t falling, a good team still finds a way to win.

That was Bradley’s task Saturday night as the Braves struggled offensively most of the first 35 minutes, but still pulled away to a 65-56 victory over UIC before 5,411 at Carver Arena. Bradley shot just 29 percent the first half and 38 percent for the game from the field.

Defense and good ball control were the keys for Bradley in the second half after trailing 33-25 at halftime. The Braves limited the Flames to just three points in the first 11:25 of the second half and 23 for the period.
