Bradley coach Brian Wardle sees a much different Evansville team, the Braves’ Wednesday road opponent, than previous versions of the Purple Aces.
Evansville (9-12, 3-5) is now under the direction of first-year coach Walter McCarty, who has changed the program’s style of play from Marty Simmons’ traditional motion offense/halfcourt defense approach.
“They’re different,” Wardle said on Monday’s Missouri Valley Conference weekly coaches teleconference. “They really pressure the ball and deny. They make you play one on one. They make you make plays, kind of what we saw at Missouri State (in Saturday’s loss). It will be a good challenge for us in a bounce back game in which we need to execute a lot better offensively.
