Bradley Opens Competition at Illinois State

Normal, Ill. – The Bradley track and field teams opened action at the Illinois State Invite on Friday with a school-record performance in the 200m dash highlighting the day for BU.

Freshman T'ya Suber ran the 200m in 24.96 seconds – surpassing the previous school standard that had held for 30 years – Melodie Turner owned the top time in school history prior with a mark of 25.08, set in 1991.

Overall, Bradley posted five top-10 marks in school history in Friday's action. Freshman Julia Nielsen finished first of 15 runners in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 2:06.
