PEORIA — Marathoners talk about hitting a wall late in races. That happened on the basketball court to Bradley on Friday night en route to a 70-61 victory over Radford.
Leading 59-42 with 9:41 left, the Braves seemed to have matters in hand before 5,167 at Carver Arena.
But then disaster struck. Four missed free throws in a row. Four turnovers in a short period against a cranked-up Radford pressure defense, one a shot clock violation out of a time out. Two shots by the most experienced Braves that found only the backboard.
With three minutes left, the visitors had clawed back to within five points.
