Poor second-half shooting sent Bradley to an 86-81 defeat Tuesday night to Saint Joseph’s in the season opener for both teams at Hagan Arena in Philadelphia.
The Braves shot just 28 percent (10-for-36) from the field after halftime after hitting 20 of 42 (48 percent) in forging a 45-43 halftime lead.
Bradley led most of the first 28 minutes, but relinquished the lead for good with 11:15 remaining when a layup by Ryan Daly gave the hosts a 63-62 lead. Daly would finish with a game-high 26 points.
“Daly just put his head down and imposed his will on us in the second half,” BU coach Brian Wardle said via phone after the game.
