Nashville, Tenn. – The Bradley soccer team fell in its Missouri Valley Conference opener on Saturday night to Belmont, 2-1. The Braves area now 2-4-1 on the season, while Bruins improve to 3-1-2.
Belmont grabbed the lead with an early goal in each half. Dylan Steely gave the hosts the lead in the 10th minute before Liam O'Brien extended the advantage in the 60th minute.
The Braves cut their deficit in half in the 80th minute when Patrick Fishburne connected on a free kick right outside the box. However, BU was unable to finalize the equalizer in the final 10-plus minutes as Belmont held on for the 2-1 win.
