NORMAL, Ill. – Sophomore Katrina Beck scored a career-high 20 points, and senior Taylor Stewart added 19 points, as the Illinois State women's basketball team squeaked out a 54-50 victory over Wichita State in a very competitive Missouri Valley Conference game Friday night on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
Beck calmly canned a pair of free throws with 1.1 seconds to seal the win. She finished 8-of-11 from the charity stripe and added eight rebounds and a team-high three steals. Stewart scored 11 of her 19 points after halftime, including seven over the final 10 minutes.
