PEORIA — Arch Madness is just around the corner. So on Saturday at Carver Arena, Bradley coach Brian Wardle and his team got some practice on their tournament clichés after a tense 63-61 win over last-place Evansville.
“End of February and March, it’s survive and advance,” Wardle said. “It wasn’t our best game, but we found a way to win.”
Added forward Elijah Childs when asked to look ahead at the season’s final week: “One game at a time. One possession at a time.”
As tight as the Missouri Valley Conference standings are, this was a game Bradley (16-13, 8-8) absolutely needed to win to sustain its goal of avoiding the upcoming league tournament play-in round.
