MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sophomore Allison Apke homered for the third time in five games and drove in five runs to help power Bradley to a 9-2 victory over UMKC Saturday morning to open the second day of the Blues City Classic.
Apke, who has driven in 10 runs in the last five games and reached base safely in all 10 games she has appeared in this season, went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI to help highlight the game for the Braves.
Bradley (6-7 overall) scored in the first inning for the third consecutive game, plating a run in the bottom half of the frame on a Kealia Wysocki single to take a 1-0 lead.
