CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Northern Iowa used a 25-0 run to seize control in the first half and went on to beat Illinois State, 83-72, in a Missouri Valley Conference basketball game Wednesday night before a McLeod Center crowd of 3,762.
Keyshawn Evans scored 21 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to pace ISU. Milik Yarbrough, who was questionable because of a toe injury, contributed 20 points and tied his career high with 13 rebounds. ISU has now lost three straight and five of its last seven games, falling to 10-11 overall and 4-5 in the Valley.
