NORMAL, Ill. – Fourth-year junior Jack Anderson fired a seven-inning one-hitter with four strikeouts in a 12-0 win over SIUE on Tuesday at Duffy Bass Field.
The seven-inning one-hitter is the first for the Redbirds since Steve Heilenbach threw one on 5/1/2013 against Webster.
Anderson conceded a second-inning single and a pair of walks but induced two double plays to face one above the minimum, seeing 22 SIUE batters for Illinois State (17-22, 7-5 Missouri Valley Conference). His seven innings pitched are a career high.
Fifth-year seniors Jordan Libman and Joe Butler and fifth-year juniors Aidan Huggins and junior Jeremy Gaines each recorded multiple RBIs to lead the Redbird offense.
