RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – Former Bradley pitcher Elliot Ashbeck made a statement before making a return trip to the Class A Advanced California League All-Star Game. In his third start of the season, the right-handed veteran reliever fanned 15 Rancho Cucamonga hitters Sunday, leading his Lake Elsinore Storm to an 11-5 victory at LoanMart Field. The 15 strikeouts are the most by any pitcher in all of Minor League Baseball so far in 2019.
Named to the South Division pitching staff for Tuesday's California League All-Star Game for the second year in a row, Ashbeck has started just six games in his 97 career professional pitching appearances since being drafted in 2015.
