PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore runner Alec Danner (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after running a personal best in the 3,000 meters at last week's Meyo Invitational.
Danner clocked the 10th-best time in school history in the 3,000 meters with a mark of 8:22.60 to top his previous career-best by nearly five seconds. His time in the event ranks third in the MVC this season. An economics major, Danner owns a 3.27 cumulative grade point average.
