NORMAL – Illinois State wide receiver Daniel Sobkowicz didn’t even need to see Xavier Loyd in a full practice to recognize what Loyd could bring to the Redbirds.
“Honestly, probably even in the winter when we would go in the bubble and run routes with the quarterbacks, I kind of already knew he was going to be a really good player for us,” Sobkowicz said.
With ISU in search of another outside receiving threat to play opposite Sobkowicz, Loyd has filled the role perfectly as the Redbirds close the regular season Saturday with a noon Missouri Valley Football Conference tussle with North Dakota at Hancock Stadium.
