The Illinois State football team has reached the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs for the sixth time with Saturday’s 11 a.m. game at No. 1-ranked North Dakota State.

1999: ISU 37, Hofstra 20: Quarterback Dusty Burk, who had taken over for injured starter Kevin Glenn, turned in one of the greatest performances in Redbird history. The redshirt freshman completed a sizzling 31 of 37 passes for 350 yards and added 54 yards on the ground to outduel Hofstra quarterback and future San Francisco 49ers draft pick Giovanni Carmazzi.
