CHAMPAIGN — For area Chicago Cubs fans who have been patiently waiting to get an up-close view of the World Series trophy, the wait is nearly over. The team has announced that the Cubs Trophy Tour will stop at the State Farm Center on Feb. 4.
The exact hours have yet to be announced, but the Illinois men’s basketball team faces Minnesota at 3 p.m. that day.
The trophy tour kicked off on Dec. 9 in Chicago and includes stops in multiple cities across the state of Illinois as well as Indiana, Iowa and Nebraska.
It marks the trophy’s second stop at a UI basketball game, the Cubs bringing their hardware to the United Center on Dec.
