CHAMPAIGN — Rod Smith has seen plenty of dual-threat quarterbacks in his coaching career.
And he's seen plenty of standout performances.
From Pat White and Denard Robinson in his time at West Virginia and Michigan to Khalil Tate at Arizona.
Isaiah Williams still gets Smith excited.
"I'll tell you what, he's about as electric on the field as probably any guy I've seen in high school," the Illinois offensive coordinator said Wednesday. "He's phenomenal with what he does — running and throwing — so I'm super excited about him."
Williams officially signed with Illinois on Wednesday in the first day of the early signing period.
