CHAMPAIGN — Da’Monte Williams rocketed up recruiting boards before the start of his junior year.
The Peoria Manual guard was considered a two-star prospect last year during his sophomore season. Now Rivals has him as a four-star recruit and ranked 56th in the country.
Williams holds scholarship offers from Illinois, Indiana, Illinois State, Bradley, Cincinnati and Illinois-Chicago and is hearing regularly from Saint Louis and Xavier.
But only one of those programs is getting a little extra push.
His dad, former Illini point guard Frank Williams, regularly drops hints about Da’Monte playing for his alma mater.
