CHAMPAIGN — Illinois "met a major need" when it signed Morgan Park five-star point guard Ayo Dosunmu last week. The Illini "got our guy," according to first-year coach Brad Underwood.
So what's next?
The early signing period ends today. Save for something wholly unexpected happening, Illinois will finish the early signing period the same way it ended that first day — Dosunmu signed and two open scholarships for Underwood to work with.
Underwood isn't taking any option off the table. He wants to add a shooter and a big man.
The Illini have targeted two of the former and one of the latter in the past two weeks with offers out to 6-foot-5, four-star wing Tevian Jones (Culver City, Calif.
