Despite the program’s third straight losing season, which came after a flurry of distractions away from the court last year, Illinois athletic director Josh Whitman said Wednesday that Illinois women’s basketball coach Matt Bollant will be back for a fifth season.
“Without question, the team’s on-court performance has fallen short of our high standards,” Whitman said. “However, this past season was extraordinarily challenging both on and off the court. We are eager to turn the page and focus on creating a bright and successful future.”
