Another big recruiting weekend is in store for the Illini, with Villanova’s Dylan Ennis arriving in town Friday. After the point guard visits Baylor (Thursday).
And before he heads west to Oregon (Saturday).
Ennis is the second fifth-year transfer to make an official visit to the UI campus this spring, following Charlotte’s Mike Thorne Jr., who signed with the Illini earlier this month.
Here’s a look at what a commitment from Ennis would do — both good and bad — for the Illinois program.
Pros
1. All signs point to point guard Tracy Abrams, who missed the 2014-15 season with a torn ACL, returning and ready to go for the upcoming season, but adding a proven veteran in the backcourt to go alongside Abrams would give the Illini some quality depth at a position of serious need.
