John Groce’s Illini are in Minneapolis on Saturday night for a must-win game at Minnesota (7:30 p.m.) and Matt Bollant’s team hosts Penn State on Saturday (2 p.m.) at State Farm Center. But they aren’t the only Illini sports in action this weekend. Here are three more to check out:
Men’s tennis
Brad Dancer’s team hosts Valparaiso at 10 this morning before meeting Notre Dame at 6 p.m. as part of the ITA team indoor championship. If the Illini knock off the Irish, Tulsa or Northwestern awaits for a spot in next month’s championship.
“It’s unusual for collegiate teams to jump right into the meat of their schedule, but that’s exactly what the ITA has set up,” Dancer said.
