CHAMPAIGN — Ke’Shawn Vaughn headed off the Memorial Stadium turf after Wednesday evening’s practice ended and into the Illinois locker room wearing a red jersey.
The Illini’s leading rusher did not practice for the second straight day after suffering a concussion this past Saturday and missing the second half of the Illini’s 28-3 loss against Ohio State.
And it doesn’t look like the true freshman — who has compiled 661 rushing yards on 145 carries and a team-high six rushing touchdowns — will play this Saturday at Minnesota.
“I think it will be a real long shot,” Illinois interim coach Bill Cubit said Wednesday.
