AD Miller and Jeff Thomas didn’t work out, so Illinois had to go back to the drawing board on finding a wideout to transfer to Champaign.
And that drawing board came up with USC’s Trevon Sidney.
Sidney, who redshirted the 2016 for the Trojans, played in 19 games over the past two seasons and had 10 catches for 139 yards. He played 139 total snaps in 2018, all of which came on offense.
Assuming Sidney graduated, he will be immediately eligible to play for the Illini in 2019, adding a presence to a depleted wideout core that is still without stud tight end transfer Luke Ford ruled as eligible for the upcoming season.
