CHAMPAIGN — Jordyn Poulter has plenty of options in the Illinois attack. Friday night's match illustrated that clearly, with Jacqueline Quade and Ashlyn Fleming putting down eight kills apiece and three other Illini finishing with at least five kills.
But Poulter's a weapon in her own right. The 6-foot-2 senior setter had three kills on three swings against Eastern Michigan, turning the Illini's solid passing into another option in the attack.
"It just kind of gives me the freedom to feel what the other blockers are doing, and hopefully early on in sets if we're passing well and I can put one down it kind of gets the middle blocker thinking of me," Poulter said.
