UI target Goodwin part of state title win

PEORIA — Belleville Althoff led Lincoln-Way West by 12 points at halftime of Saturday’s Class 3A boys’ basketball state title game and cruised to a 62-37 win. Jordan Goodwin, an Illinois hoops target, scored a game-high 19 points and Tarkus Ferguson added 11 for the Crusaders (32-2). Marco Pettinato and Cameron Gavin both had 10 points to lead Lincoln-Way West (22-10).

Williams rebounds. Illini commit Da’Monte Williams tallied a team-high-tying 12 points and nine rebounds to help Peoria Manual past Westchester St. Joseph 56-55 Saturday in the Class 3A third-place game at Peoria. The Rams finished 26-5.
