CHAMPAIGN — Two Illinois swimmers will have the opportunity to compete at the Canadian Olympic Trials this week.
Samantha Stratford and Megan Vuong will represent the Illini at the meet, which starts today and runs through Sunday. Stratford, a native of Cambridge, Ontario, has qualified in the 100-meter butterfly, 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley.
Vuong, who is from Mississauga, Ontario, will swim in the 100 and 200 butterfly races, with the 100 butterfly preliminaries starting today at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.
Stratford and Vuong are the 10th and 11th swimmers Illinois coach Sue Novitsky has helped qualify for the Olympic Trials during her tenure.
