URBANA — The 12th-ranked Illinois men’s tennis team took care of Notre Dame at home Friday night, defeating the Fighting Irish 5-2 inside Atkins Tennis Center.
It was the second victory of the season by Illinois against Notre Dame.
Illinois won the doubles point, with Aleks Vukic not losing a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. Jared Hiltzik kept the match rolling in favor of the Illini (5-1) with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles. Both Vukic (5-0) and Hiltzik (4-0) remain unbeaten on the season in singles play.
