PLACIDA, Fla. — Second-ranked Illinois men’s golf won all three fourball matches and five of six singles matches Monday against Illinois State, capturing the 13th annual Tinervin Cup by a 7 1/2-1 1/2 margin at Coral Creek Golf Club.
It was the spring season-opening event for the Illini, who have won the Tinervin Cup all 13 times it has been contested.
The duos of Thomas Detry and Dylan Meyer, Alex Burge and Edoardo Lipparelli, and Charlie Danielson and Nick Hardy were all victorious in fourball, and each Illini but Hardy won his singles match, with Hardy tying his foe.
