CHAMPAIGN — Isaiah Martinez's final match inside Huff Hall on Sunday was bittersweet.
Martinez did what he almost always does: He defeated the opponent in front of him. Illinois' 165-pounder dominated in fact, as Martinez won by major decision, claiming a 14-6 triumph over Wisconsin's Evan Wick.
But, the Badgers still spoiled the party.
For the first time in 369 days, Illinois finished on the losing side in a home dual.
No. 20 Wisconsin knocked off the 14th-ranked Illini by a score of 19-16 and snapped Illinois' 11-match winning streak at Huff Hall.
The result: The Illini finished the regular season with a 7-4 overall record and 6-3 mark in the Big Ten.
