IOWA CITY, Iowa — Illinois got its rematch against Ohio State.
But, the final result was the same.
The Illini lost 4-0 to the Buckeyes for the second time in 15 days — this time in Sunday's Big Ten tournament men's tennis title match.
"This is a bitter disappointment and loss," Illinois coach Brad Dancer said afterward. "We were extremely confident going into this weekend that we could win this tournament and would win this tournament."
Now, eighth-ranked Illinois (21-7) has to wait until Tuesday to learn its NCAA Tournament fate.
Dancer said Sunday's match boiled down to what happened in doubles.
