LUBBOCK, Texas — Augie Garrido will be recognized for his accomplishments in college baseball, with the former Illini coach set to join the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in July. Garrido’s inclusion in the Hall’s 2016 class was announced Thursday.
Garrido led the Illini in the 1988, 1989 and 1990 seasons, compiling an overall record of 111-57. In his final season, Illinois collected 19 Big Ten wins, a program record at the time.
