SAUGET, Ill. — Pat McInerney hit a two-run homer and Jack Yalowitz added a solo shot as part of a four-run fourth inning Tuesday for Illinois baseball, which posted a 6-4 win over Missouri (24-22) at GCS Ballpark.
Yalowitz added an RBI double in the eighth for the Illini (22-19), while Dan Rowbottom and Jason Goldstein each contributed a run-scoring single in support of pitcher Andrew Mamlic (4-6). The righty tossed seven four-hit innings, allowing one earned run and striking out seven.
Brown to toss pitch. Former Illinois basketball star Dee Brown, now the school’s special assistant to the director of athletics, will throw a ceremonial first pitch during “Illini Night at Busch Stadium.
