CARBONDALE — Looking to snap a four-game losing streak Friday, Illinois baseball didn’t get off to the best of starts against Northern Illinois.
The Salukis put up a three spot in the third inning as the Illini searched for their first hit.
But Illinois responded to the early adversity with five unanswered runs, the UI pitching staff allowed just one hit over the last six innings and the Illini grabbed a 5-3 victory.
“We can use this gave as momentum for the rest of the weekend,” pitcher Cody Sedlock said. “Hopefully we come out tomorrow and get (another win).
