CHAMPAIGN — Playing outside at the NCAA Championships is the ultimate end game for Illinois men's tennis.
That possible trip to Orlando, Fla., would happen in late May, when warm weather is on everyone's minds.
Unlike this week, when staying warm is the biggest focus with the polar vortex that swept most of the country, including Champaign-Urbana.
But the Illini will still play their first tennis match at home this school year at 6 p.m. on Friday when coach Brad Dancer's 15th-ranked program welcomes in Duke.
No worries, either, about any of his players having to wear several layers while worrying about their forehand.
