CHAMPAIGN — Brad Underwood was pretty clear when discussing the 29 three-pointers Illinois attempted in its loss at Purdue. Even if he keeps mentioning it was 30. Making just eight of those 29 three-pointers was the issue for the Illinois coach.
"We talked after the Purdue game — a game in which we shot (29) threes — about not doing that anymore," Underwood said. "We settled, and we can't settle. We've got to be a team that tries to get the ball into the paint whether it's to Giorgi (Bezhanishvili) or whether it's through the dribble drive."
So that's what Illinois did in Sunday's 81-76 win against Northwestern.
