RANTOUL — When Dave and Pat Beckman come here every August to watch their son's Big Ten football team break a sweat at its annual boot camp, they always set aside time to stop in at Ott's Drive In to indulge in the diner's most desirable delicacy — a juicy quarter pounder.

And after 16 years of hosting Illini football players and coaches for two weeks of preseason practice, Ott's cooks/co-owners know they'd better have extra beef on hand come Camp Rantoul time.

"We usually see a steady stream of the same fans coming back every year.
