Former Illini offensive lineman Cam Pepper had a very good reason to drive to Green Bay this week: His son Taybor played in his first NFL game Thursday night against the Chicago Bears.
Pepper is the Packers' new long snapper. He replaced veteran Derek Goode, who is out at least eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
Taybor Pepper signed with the Packers during the offseason, but was released May 8. Pepper spent time in training camp with Baltimore and played in a preseason game.
"He had nine punt snaps, two extra point snaps and one field goal snap, and every snap was perfect," Cam Pepper said.
