When he first arrived on the Illinois campus in the late 1990s, Dave Diehl would not have been pegged a future TV star. But here is, in his second season at Fox, handling an important game (Panthers vs. Bucs) on late Sunday afternoon alongside veteran announcer Dick Stockton.
Just like during his football career, Diehl improves every day. He was an undervalued recruit at Illinois who became a standout lineman for a Big Ten title team.
His growth as a player continued in the NFL, where the fifth-round draft pick in 2003 became a star for the two-time Super Bowl champion Giants.
