Last April, Illinois men’s tennis coach Brad Dancer watched his team win the Big Ten tournament title on its home court at Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana.
It may technically be the offseason, but Dancer will get to watch his players compete again on the blue courts of Atkins at the Car-X Futures of Champaign tournament this week, this time with a different set of stakes on the line. A $15,000 purse awaits the winner.
The Car-X Futures tournament is part of the International Tennis Federation’s Men’s Circuit, serving as an entry level for professional tennis tournaments.
