Sophomore point guard Te’Jon Lucas intends to transfer from Illinois this offseason, he announced via Twitter on Monday afternoon.
Lucas started 34 games and appeared in 60 total games over two years in Champaign. A native of Milwaukee, Lucas was the only true freshman on Illinois 2016-17 team. Kipper Nichols was a redshirt freshman.
As a freshman, Lucas worked his way into the starting lineup after the declines of Jaylon Tate and Tracy Abrams. He started the first 16 games and the final three games this season, averaging 5.7 points and per game and recording 94 assists.
